On Wednesday, October 5, I attended the Montrose community forum to hear presentations by candidates running for county and state offices.
In the race of House District 58, Marc Catlin and Kevin Kuns talked about their background, experience and vision for this large district. I was impressed with the fresh ideas and energized perspective of Kevin Kuns. The issues in Southwestern Colorado are changing rapidly and drastically with many challenges in the areas of water, education, mental health and affordable housing for working families.
Although Mr. Catlin stated that Colorado is an urban-centric state, I believe Kevin Kuns will be the change we need in order to garner legislative funding and support for the Western Slope. Kevin understands the complex issues we face and particularly those of family farms, ranches and water management. He is known statewide and is well respected for his work in many areas that improve people’s lives.
Kevin Kuns is an effective leader who will provide the dynamic change we need for House District 58.
